Third major screw-up from FireFox 3.5.7 in the last few days.
OK. To be fair, I do push FireFox. I always have two instances of FireFox, one on each monitor, and each instance with at least five open tabs.
An hour ago, I left my system, inactive, for about an hour while I had breakfast and had a shower. I had left it with two instances of FireFox (13 tabs) and Word 2007 ‘active.’ When I got back FireFox was LOCKED UP SOLID.
This time there was no question. This was a FireFox problem.
Checked Task Manager. Realized something that I hadn’t paid any attention to before. FireFox is still at 32-bit. Just checked. There is no 64-bit version of FireFox! Oh, my!
Googled FireFox 3.5.7 and Windows 7. Appears that I am not alone.
So a heads-up. Maybe, I will, against my better judgment, try IE 8. Yikes.
