So had my first FireFox 3.6 hang last night — my 3rd day of using it.
Yes, I have been using it hard. Yes, it could have been the site … our local TV station … http://www.wmur.com … that I was visiting. As ever I had two instances of FireFox, one on each monitor. When I was accessing wmur.com the WHOLE MONITOR (right hand) flickered. I knew I was in trouble. I was right.
FireFox soon, not immediately, become unresponsive.
Tried to close it, using the top right-hand “X”. Windows 7 jumped in and told me that FireFox was not responding. It said it would try to fix it. We went through this routine twice. Then FireFox closed. I started it up. All the tabs came back … with no mention that it was a restart or restore.
Looked at the ‘Reliability History’ in the Action Center. No mention that Windows 7 had to force a shutdown of FireFox. Very disappointing.
I am getting more disillusioned with Windows 7 by the day. It is not as good as I had hoped. SHAME.
