The KB971033 Windows Activation Technologies (WAT) update for checking against pirated copies of Windows 7, that has caused so much angst, might NOT be the only way that Microsoft is now checking for pirated copies of Windows 7.
Way back, in November, Microsoft claimed that it would continue to distribute Windows 7 Updates to those with pirated copies. I for ONE ranted and raved that this was amoral. I accused Microsoft of being unpatriotic since this was depriving us of tax revenue.
Just noticed something that MIGHT mean that Microsoft may start restricting Windows 7 updates to just those of us that PAID for Windows 7.
There was SUPPOSED to be a new Windows 7 update TODAY. I checked using my Windows Updater. It said … NO UPDATES. Hhhhmmm. So I went looking … manually. I found this:
I also noticed a little pesky Genuine Microsoft Software icon next to the KB976264. Do you see it?
What DOES that MEAN. It means that KB976264 SUPPOSEDLY can only be installed on GENUINE copies of Windows 7. I, however, don’t believe that. But, Microsoft is trying to CONVEY that impression.
So what is strange about KB976264.
I actually installed IT on February 28 — 9 days ago!
Here is PROOF from my trusted Action Center:
I think Microsoft is posturing. Like Ballmer showing off his underwear when strutting around in drag — and trust me … IT CAN’T BE A PRETTY SIGHT. He is the poster boy for childhood obesity.
But, he on the lookout. Always remember, Ballmer looks best in drag — ideally when he isn’t trying to show you his thong. [No, no. That wasn’t a typo. THONG. THONG.]
As ever, I will keep YOU posted.
